Reynolds Number for Laminar Flow
The Reynolds number Re helps predict flow patterns in different fluid flow situationsAt low Reynolds numbers flows tend to be dominated by laminar sheet-like flow while at high Reynolds numbers flows tend to be turbulentThe turbulence results from differences in the fluids speed and direction which may sometimes intersect or even move counter to the overall. If after computing the Reynolds number we find that the flow is laminar ie. Reynolds Number Reynolds Number Fluid Dynamics Flow Definition The turbulent flow of the fluid indicates that the fluid flow does not follow a straight line but it follows a haphazard zig-zag pathway. . Viscous force is more prominent due to the slower flow rate. He injected dye into fluids flowing through pipes under varied conditions and came up with a group of variables to predict whether pipe flow would be laminar or turbulent. Or mixed is based on the Reynolds number. A flow is considered ...
